Modern amenities in nostalgic fashion are all here: a claw-footed tub and shower, retro stove and oven, fridge, TV, even a microwave, all for your comfort. A private cottage with its very own beach right on Lake Erie. A magical place tucked in the trees on the edge of a deep blue sailor’s dream, a peaceful place where memories magnify every hug and giggle to last a lifetime. Add this to your bucket list. About an hour and a half from the Detroit area, Kelley’s Island is very similar to Mackinaw Island, with a few cars, but mostly bikes and golf carts – both which you can reserve before arrival. This is the one place in the Mid-America where you can see with your own eyes the grooves left behind by the glaciers millions of years ago. An island which holds treasures of the past, and where you can be free to create your own, year after year.

A small deposit will hold your reservation – of which there are precious few – the summers are short – the ferry crossing times gear up for May through September, but then, only a few in October – dwindling as the winter approaches and the island shuts down to visitors, wrapped in a blanket of white……. until the magic of another Summer on Lake Erie comes awake again.
The cottage can sleep 8, but the price is based on 6 with $50 more for each person after 6. Bed linens & towels available for $25.00 per person. The cleaning fee is an additional $100.
